Over the years, facial skin loses its elasticity, sharp lines become soft and slightly “fallen,” and cheeks – which were once full – begin to hollow out or droop. For those who feel that their face no longer reflects their inner energy or youthful feeling – but still don’t want or need to undergo extensive surgery – a mini facelift is an ideal solution. A mini facelift is a more gentle surgical procedure than a full facelift. It focuses on the lower part of the face – particularly the jawline and cheeks – and improves the sagging, hollow appearance caused by aging or weight loss.

The purpose of treatment
A mini facelift is a gentle and effective surgical procedure, performed under local anesthesia with sedation (or general anesthesia, as needed), and aims to restore defined lines to the face, blur minor signs of sagging, and rejuvenate the appearance – without changing the expression or creating a “surgery-like” appearance.

How does it work?
A full facelift is a comprehensive surgical procedure that treats sagging skin, wrinkles, and sagging deep tissue in the face and neck. It provides a more dramatic result and is suitable for those looking for a noticeable and lasting change over the years. Who is it suitable for? Patients aged 50 and over who have significant sagging skin on the face and neck, deep wrinkles, significant sagging cheeks, a sagging jawline, and a sagging neck.

Duration of treatment
Duration of surgery: approximately 3–5 hours, usually under general anesthesia.

Pain level
The pain is tolerable and can be managed with medication. A feeling of tension, swelling, and sometimes a temporary numbness is expected.

Warnings
Any strenuous activity (including sports, weightlifting, yoga, etc.) should be avoided for at least 3 weeks after mini-stretching and 4–6 weeks after full stretching.
Light walking at home is permitted and even recommended from the first day, to improve blood circulation.
A gradual return to physical activity will only be made with the doctor’s approval.

Recovery time
Complete rest is required after the procedure: 3–5 days. Return to work: usually after 10–14 days, return to physical activity: after about 4–6 weeks.
The scars are hidden in the hairline and behind the ears, and fade over time.
